Book Clubs That Meet...

To all book groups out there -

I wanted to know if book groups typically got together via online (message board style) or if they actually met up and discussed the books read over a given duration of time. Although I'm not officially in any book group now, I would certainly like to be, and am unfamiliar with how to go about joining one.

I need to get reading this summer, that's for certain. I don't want my brain to be completely fried before getting back to school - and reading seems to be the most practical thing to do to avoid that potential problem... being jobless right now certainly doesn't aid in filling up my "free-time".

Let me know how this thing works.
