I realize that I've read this largely as a novel about Liz, Lauren and Sarabeth--the main women's relationships, but we have some really interesting men here--and kind of enigmatic, too. What do you make of how little Brody and Joe speak up? They don't really "air their thoughts" much, do they? Do we need them to say more? Do Lauren and Liz need them to say more? Joe, of course, is only in eighth grade! What do you make of Brody, as a husband, as a father?
I particularly loved the scene where he takes Lauren out for errands and when she breaks down, just hugs her and hands her the keys!
