Classic Rock or any of the Old Stuff

Now, I'm not sure about you guys, but I do NOT listen to any of that Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, and all those.  But I only listen to that Classic Rock (Led Zeppelin, U2, Journey, some Pink Floyd songs)  So C'mon classic rock, 90's Pearl Jam and grunge anybody?  Anybody else in the same boat with me :smileyvery-happy:

I posted out of curiosity.

Re: Classic Rock or any of the Old Stuff

That's interesting that someone so young is into the old stuff like that.  How did you get into it - is it what your parents listen to, and you just found you like it?

I like mostly 60s through the 80s.  Zeppelin, U2, Pink Floyd are great, and Journey is good, too.  I would have to say that my favorites are the Beatles, Genesis, Queen, and Heart.  But I love lots of others, too.  Not really into 90s and beyond, or grunge.  Most of the later stuff would probably be by groups or singers who are still around from before and still releasing new stuff.

Right now I'm listening to L.A. Woman by the Doors.

Well you got great taste for music, I like the Beatles alot as well.

I never really liked hip hop and all that,  So My parents introduced me to Coldplay, and that was my favorite band at the time, I then discovered U2, and loved that even more, then I got into Pearl Jam from Pandora and my Dad mostly knows the music I like and will recommend a band, so thats how I found Journey and all those, But I had always heard of Led Zeppelin listend to Stairway to Heave, loved the song and the band, and then heard of Pink Floyd checked them out, did NOT like them at first, but now I really appreciate their music.

So THAT is the WHOLE story of my intro to music  lol :smileywink:

I listen to the old good stuff too. Queen, Meat Loaf, Metallica, sometimes Pink Floyd and Genesis.

I'm totally with you guys:  Zeppelin, The Who, The Doors, Styx, Creedence, Bob Seger, The Kinks, and I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot.

Re: Classic Rock or any of the Old Stuff

I listen to some of that but when I listen to older stuff, I tend to go way older.

Peggy Lee, Kaye Star, Sarah Vaughn, Julie London, Scott Joplin, Billie Holiday...so on and so on.

I'm only 34 but my friend tease me for my taste in music and movies.

Well, I do have some Judy Garland, Bing Crosby, Louis Armstrong, and Desi Arnaz in my collection!  I also have a couple of Natalie Cole CDs on which she sings songs from her father's era, including a couple of 'duets' with him.

Re: Classic Rock or any of the Old Stuff

I like some of the newer stuff - including Lady Gaga. But Classic Rock is always best. The Beatles are favorites - with Rolling Stones in second place. I saw Led Zepplin in concert years ago and they were pretty bad compared to Beatles and Stones, (I've seen all three live and can make that comparison). Check out the book "The Beatles In Cleveland."

Keep Rockin'!!

Re: Classic Rock or any of the Old Stuff

Pretty cool!  And if you mean the Led Zeppelin re-unite concert they did a few years ago... ya!

I have heard it was pretty bad!  But even though there "get back together" concert may have not been the best I still love ALL their music :smileywink:

Re: Classic Rock or any of the Old Stuff

My taste in music has changed a lot lately, I still listen to R&B, Hip Hop, and Pop

But the standards are slowly taking over.

Re: Classic Rock or any of the Old Stuff

I can't go any older than Elvis. But I still tell people my favorite "new" band is Wings. HA!! A good musician / music fan enjoys it all.
