I know we've got to have at least a few gamers around here. What system(s) do you own are you playing?
I was a PC gamer for a long time but last year I got a 360. And I love it!
I just got Forza Motorsport 3 so I've been playing quite a bit of that lately. Excellent racer, extremely well modeled physics, massive selection of cars (400+), great tracks - and unlike most racing games of this type, you can go into a "free play mode" and try out any car on any track you want (most games make you unlock everything in a Career Mode first)
I'm also excited for
Assassin's Creed II - in fact I even pre-ordered it, which I almost never do, so I'll be picking it up tomorrow. Even though I thought the original got a little too repetive later in the game, it looks like they've added a lot to the mix and the new setting (Rennaissance Italy) should be a lot of fun to explore.
How bout you?

We're so behind the times! We only have a Gamecube, which we got used a couple of years ago. My seven-year-old son is just getting the hang of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and he's about mastered LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy with Bonus!. We loaned our copy of Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess - Used and I'm kinda glad, because I get hopelessly addicted to Zelda games when I start playing them.

I'm even more behind the times - I don't have any game system at all, and the only computer game I have is The Sims (the original one). Even that is behind the times, I guess, but I do have all the extras for it (Vacation, Unleashed, Makin' Magic, etc.)! Now I see they're coming out with Sims 3.
Sometimes I would like to try another, but when I look at them in the store, I get confused. Everything is number 3 or 6 or whatever, and I'm not sure if I have to have had the earlier ones installed previously. I also don't want something that I have to play online (my dial-up is way too slow for that), and most of them seem to be online. I want something challenging that I can play by myself, and would like some kind of fantasy theme, like a Dungeons and Dragons or quest thing. Any recommendations?

You would probably love The Elder Scrolls series of games by Bethesda. I'm not sure how old your computer is, from the sound of things it probably won't run the most recent one (Oblivion) but can probably run the one before that - Morrowind - which is a great game and IMO much better than Oblivion anyway.

I would recommend "Myst." They now have the whole collection available on one DVD-ROM. These are quite challenging. Try used video game stores to get "older" games that may not have as many requirements for video or sound cards.

If you either post or PM me your computers statistics, I will be happy to give you a LONG list.
For me it's often a question of what game I'm not playing yet.

I mostly play on an xbox 360 these days, after 2 previous systems went RROD on me I almost sold all the accessories and switched to a PS3. Since the new elite systems have the newer motherboard which is supposed to be more reliable I decided to give it another shot. Too much of a Halo fan I guess. At least with the big price drop for the systems when I got store credit for my original purchase price I was able to get an elite this time.
Newest game I've been playing is episodes from liberty city the GTA 4 spinoffs. The lost and the damned was pretty cool, haven't tried the ballad of gay Tony yet but most GTA games follow the same formula. ![]()
I agree with everyone else if you want a good fantasy game then Oblivion would be my first choice. You can do anything in that game right down to owning & decorating your own house. Buying the mansion and hiring a maid was a nice twist as well. Buying the display cases then stocking them with items you find in the game adds a nice personal touch to your house.
Or there is always The World of Warcraft but tread carefully on that one. It can get annoying plus if you do take a shine to it it's more addictive than heroin. It can be a lot of fun though.
I was wondering if Dragonage was any good but haven't heard much about it yet. Looks interesting but one never knows.

If you have a 360, I would definitely recomend Oblivion for an epic RPG fantasy game, and Modern Warfare 2 for a first person shooter.

I'm excited! We bought Zelda: Twilight Princess back when it was originally released. At the time, we didn't own a Gamecube, but we were borrowing one from friends. We returned the system and let our friends borrow the game in turn. We've had a Gamecube for a couple of years now, but never got our game back, until NOW (or soon, anyway)! I cannot wait to get into the game - should be fun.

My family got itself a Wii for Christmas. We're obsessively playing New Super Mario Bros., and it's kicking our butts. Love it.

I did play though Dragon Age and it's not a bad game for those who are into fantasy. It's not as cool as Oblivion but still a lot of fun. One thing to bear in mind is that it's not just one player you control it's a party of 4. The primary character you create and play the origin story with plus 3 others you can select from people/things you find throughout the game. You directly control one character and the AI controls the other 3 but you can take direct control of any character at any time.
It does have a high replay value as well because more details to the story are revealed if you play different races/classes throughout the game. Plus the 3 different classes are cool in their own different ways so you can pretty much play whatever you like.

I've been pretty much obsessed with FIFA Soccer 2010 lately. Not that I'm particurlaly good at it yet but it's a hell of a lot of fun and one of the most realistic video games I've played in any genre.

Well, I have a PS3 and a 360(although I don't play it all that much), and lately I've been switching back and forth between playing Devil May Cry 4 and my new FFXIII.

Well I have a wii which is pretty cool, but I'd love a PS3. I think most of the games aren't very kid friendly, and since i have a little sister, we can't really get one right now. But anyway I spend most of my hours perfecting my DJ Hero skills. It's so addicting for me and I love it so much that its the first thing I do after I finish my homework a lot of the time ![]()
I am the addiction.

Yeah both the PS3 and the Xbox are designed for an adult audience. There are a few titles that it doesn't matter; Little Big Planet, Rock Band, Guitar Hero, DDR, and such. But the vast majority of all other title will been teen and up.
