Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

I would say that I have been looking forward with much trepidation about this movie since I first heard the title they were using. (sigh) Looks like though someone decided to combine the plots of the original movie with the plots out of the video games God of War and Titan Quest. Any opinions?

Ooh!  Thanks for the heads-up!  I admit, I have an irrational attachment to the Harry Hamlin stop-action animation version, so I may be hard to please.  But it looks pretty awesome in the preview.

Welcome. I am a bit worried one reason, all you see in the trailer is scorpion tails and running through woods. Makes you wonder what the other monsters look like.

This was really good, over the top, never have to see another disaster move ever again. Just don't think one could ever top it.

Well, they filmed it at the same time as New Moon, so no surprise there.

Well.. that's market saturation, and a bit extreame.  The Rings movies were all filmed at the same time but they spaced those out a bit more.  At less than 6 months apart, New Moon will still be playing at the cheepos while Eclipse is a new release. Considereing the hysteria this... could be interesting.

True, but they're banking on the younger generations need for instant gratification - ride the wave all the way to the Caymans!

Good music, good band. This movie has been trying to be made for 15 years now, so finally.

The Runaways

http://www.imdb.com/video/imdblink/vi3885630489/

While none have been as good as the first, these are always a good time

Shrek 4

Shrek Forever After (2010)

For a movie that the filming of sparked a minor international incident, this looks rather good

Just Saw Sherlock Holmes...loved the movie and looking forward to seeing up in the air with George Clooney.  Will probably see it for the New Year.

I really enjoyed Sherlock Holmes, too.  I think Robert Downey, Jr. is completely awesome, but I was really captivated by Jude Law's flawed Dr. Watson.  Well done, Mr. Richey.

I saw "New Moon" yesterday afternoon and it's better than "Twilight," but really, what more can I say... oh yeah, Taylor Lautner is a beautiful young man and seeing so much young male flesh made me feel a bit dirty.  What is Taylor Swift thinking?  *sigh*

I'm hoping to see Avatar on New Year's Eve.

Sherlock Holmes was highly enjoyable, better than I expected.

And well with the Taylor Swift thing... occording to interviews she thought they were exclusice and found out they weren't kind of thing. Can't blame her myself.

Re: What MOVIES are you looking forward to?

I'm most looking forward to:

A Single Man (though it doesn't appear to be playing anywhere in my area)

Sex and the City 2

Youth In Revolt (LOVED the novel, can't wait to see what they do with the film!)

The Paranoids (Spanish language comedy that I'm SURE won't play locally, so I'll wait for the DVD)
