I haven't read Kathy Reichs's books yet. I'm afraid that I won't like them as well as the TV series.
And Masterpiece Mystery Easy to Kill is on the Tivo and The Closer is on tonight.

I have the complete set of that! It was great when it came out, because they only ever released two VHS tapes, with something like six episodes, so I was dying to see all the rest again.
Over the weekend I watched some of:
I'm into the third season, I think. I saw the episode with Richard Dreyfuss as "Durf the Drag", that Gidget invites to a dance to try to improve his confidence, and it is so successful that he dumps her before the dance.

The protagonist is a totally different character between the books and the TV, though the author is a consultant on the show. All the side characters are different too.

Having been an American version of the Commi myself, that show is just so funny to me. Gidget is a bit before my time though.

I felt the need to connect with my son today so I though I would watch one of his favorite movie (he doesn't come back for another two weeks).

Just finished this one
Pretty in Pink
it's been a while. So why did I find this funnier now, years later?

Last night I watched
It's been years since I saw this! I wonder just what the count was of all the cars they trashed, most of which were police cars. I love the $5 DVD case at WalMart!

Went to the midnight release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
Awesome. Loved it. Cried buckets.
And that's all I'm saying for now.
I read and knit and dance. Compulsively feel yarn. Consume books. Darn tights. Drink too much caffiene. All that good stuff.

Very brave, Melissa. We're waiting until at least the 25th or 26th. I think I'll take a whole box of tissues. There's nothing worse than bawling in your popcorn!

The 50% off Criterion Collection sale got me and I spent a good portion of the last hour dithering over my final selection (hard, because I would like to have most of the collection). I will soon be watching:
Yay!

Oooh, I saw that sale, too, and could easily empty my bank account and fill my condo to the ceiling!
I didn't see an end date for the sale, so maybe I will mercifully wait too long and miss out, but I am tempted the most by Carlos Saura's Flamenco trilogy, and his Cria Cuervos and (not his) Spirit of the Beehive. I believe that Ana Torrent was five when she made the latter, and nine when she made the former. But there are plenty of others I'd like, too (Seven Samurai is one).
Oooh, and Jacques Tati's M. Hulot movies! If they had the four in a set, they would probably definitely hook me, but I don't think I will buy them all separately. I have the first and last on VHS. But I may get Mon Oncle, which is my favorite (with the automated house of the future!).
Add a sprinkling of Bunuel and Fellini, and I'll be bemoaning my lack of space to store them!
