Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: Your favorite movie soundtrack

The only soundtrack CD I own is Atonement, I love the use of the typewriter.

Atonement [Music from the Motion Picture]

Though there are songs from the Shrek Soundtrack (Hallelujah) and the Moulin Rouge soundtrack too.

Re: Your favorite movie soundtrack

Over the weekend, "The Holiday" played several times on TBS.  Have any of you seen it?  I had seen it before, but seeing it again I was reminded why I like it so much.  I especially love Jack Black's film score composer role.  He and Kate Winslet are cruising Blockbuster Video and he makes her laugh playing the "Soundtrack Game."  *sigh*  That always cracks me up.  The scores he highlights:

Chariots of Fire

Driving Miss Daisy

Jaws - The Anniversary Collector's Edition

Graduate

Mission

Re: Your favorite movie soundtrack

These days it seems to be heavily about featured songs, which are always likely to appeal.

as a score specifically for a film, i would probably go with 'Klute',

so atmospheric.

Re: Your favorite movie soundtrack

There are several that stand out for several reasons...

The Red Violin

 Very Haunting and Beautiful

Donnie Darko [Original Motion Picture Score]

Another that is great but I have to say I like the import much better (it includes a lot of early 80's New Wave Music)

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Once More, with Feeling

A must have for any Buffy fan.  The episode was great and the music was genius.

Sure!  First one on 2nd row is "Footloose"- the Kevin Bacon movie from the 80's?  He moves to that town in the midwest where dancing has been outlawed?  It's a teen classic from that decade.  Loved it!
