Feature request for B&N Nook Library/Account.

Not sure where else to post this. The other forums all seem to be related to specific devices.

My daugher is getting to be old enough to have her own account soon. I'd like to be able to split my account and move her books into a new account for her.  I realize this isn't possible at the moment but I can't be the only one who has a problem like this. I encountered a similar issue with my music and audiobook accounts a few years ago when I got divorced so I can envision a number of scenarios where this could be a useful feature for a lot of people.

You do not buy an DRM protected ebook. You buy a license to do with that ebook the things that license allows. And at the moment you are not allowed to transfer that license to someone else.

The publishers want everyone to buy their own personal copy of an ebook. B&N would get in a lot of trouble with the publishers if they allowed this.

You can transfer any books in your account from your nook to her nook using ADE. Both nooks and your computer will have to be authorized to use a single ADE account which is very easy to set up. ADE (Adobe Digital Editions) is free software that can be downloaded and installed to your computer. This account ID/password is separate from your B&N account. You can add up to 6 devices total to one ADE account.

ADE will put the books in "My Files/Books" on your daughters Nook. Once you put the books on her nook, open one of the books. You'll be asked for the credit card associated with that book. Type it in and it's good for the rest of her books. She will NOT have access to your credit card by doing this. :smileyhappy:

Though the general details usually available through B&N for each ebook won't be available to her on these books, the covers will show up in her library so she can see what she has available.
