How can I read the same book on different devices, starting where I left off on the previous device?

I started reading a book on my Nook and want to pick up on the same page I left off on my phone via the Nook app, but when I start my Nook app it begins at the very beginning, not several pages in like I am. The B&N website says this is possible but I can't figure it out. If it helps I have the Nook 1st Edition.
Thanks!

I usually find it works most of the time, not 100%, although many people have had problems with it. One thing to remember is to keep your Nook connected to the Wifi so it can periodically update B&N on what page you are on. You may also need to resynchronize in the Nook app on your phone before opening the book.
