How to Get Rid of the Lend Message

Tbere is a repeating message that appears when I use my NST about lending books to my friends.  I can clear the message, but it reappears each day.  Is there a way to clear it permanently?

I noticed some message kept poping up when my nook was powered up from off but never bothered to read it.

Rather than turn the nook off let it enter sleep mode when you are done. Unless you are leaving the nook sit for several days without use; sleep mode should be less of a drain on the battery than powering it up each day.

Thanks that is useful, but doesn't resolve how to eliminate the message.  I have looked online at my account to see if there is a preference I can set and there isn't.  So it appears there is no solution to this annoying 'convenience.'

heh... Well that was the conclusion I came to when I first noticed it.

Thanks!  I'll try it.

Hey, there!  Did that work?  I never saw that message before--now it appears with the 1.1.2 update on mine. I'll try it myself when my mom is done borrowing mine--as long as I have it plugged in so it won't freeze.

Yes it did!

It turns out that pressing the "X" in the poop-up (sic) notification balloon only dismisses the poop-up (sic) notification until the next reboot.  Instead, if you press elsewhere in the poop-up (sic) notification balloon, it takes you to a new page for adding Nook Friends, which you can then close.

The latter action seems to get rid of the poop-up (sic) notification.
