Is there any special reason why B&N does not list the number of pages in the Nook book descriptions?

Why is ther not a listing of the number of pages for a Nook book? This to me would be very helpful in the certain instances where you purchase what you thought was a great deal on a book, and then it ends up being less than 100 pages. I know that everyone has their "pet peaves" but I really would like that feature. It may be due to a formating issue but I just wanted to know if someone knew the reason that info is not listed?

The publisher provides the page count. If the publisher has not provided the information, B&N cannot include it. The page count is included for many ebooks, as in the example below:
Note that pages in ebooks are rarely comparable to each other. Wordcount would be more accurate, as a 50,000 word book could be 1 ebook page or 100,000 ebook pages, depending on how the .epub file is created.

The publisher does not provide the page count for ebooks as this has no meaning and they don't ask for it. Amazon, for example, calculates a predicted page count from the file contents that get uploaded. B&N could easily do the same thing. The page count depends on which reading device is being used. I think this is a handy feature that B&N should add.
