Volume Up Button Does Not Work

The first day that I got my Nook Tablet I thought that the volume up button was broken. When I pressed it, it appeared that nothing would happen. I thought I was going to have to return the device if it was a hardware problem.

I've had it about a week now and my experience has changed. Sometimes the volume up button does not work at all, sometimes it works just fine. Sometimes I will press it and nothing will happen, then 5 or 10 minutes later the volume will turn up all of a sudden. Sometimes when I am using the device the volume graphic will display on the screen and will not go away.

It's really hard to figure out because it seems random as to when this happens (it doesn't seem to be particular application that's causing it). However, since it does work sometimes and it's so erratic it seems that is actually a software problem and not hardware related.

I was just wondering if anyone else is seeing similar behavior. Thanks!

I would do a hard reset before returning it. Something clearly is not right and the reset may do the trick!
