Volume trouble with earbuds & Tablet?

This issue may have been discussed previously, but I cannot locate an answer. My earbuds work with all other 3.5 inputs (phone, PC, laptop and TV.) Sound comes through in HD stereo but when plugged into the Tablet only the left earbud works. Could it possibly be that the Tablet only uses the antiquated mono sound?  I have tried Bose and Skullcandy HD buds in all my other electronics, so it's not the earbuds as all work fine, only Nook Tablet uses left earbud/mono. Any suggestions? Is this typical? Any apps to improve?Thank you.

What Nook Model do you have?

Do you have Nook Color or Nook Tablet or Nook HD or Nook HD+?

Also, what song or site are you using?

Nook Tablet does not have Stereo Speakers.

Nook HD and HD+ do.

Actually, both the NC and NT are capable of stereo sound using any number of earbuds. If the earbud prong is not inserted firmly into the NC or NT, however, it will result in mono sound. Use some pressure and be sure it is completely inserted.

thanks. I didn't know that. I checked online and there were reviews saying 'mono sound'. They must be wrong. Stereo sound makes sense with earbuds.
