This started with two books that refused to download. They would sit showing as downloading, but never download. Other books and apps downloaded just fine. So, I was told to try and put the books in archive and then pull them back out; and I did so, without any success. I was told to do this by tech support online chat.
When that did not work, John suggested that I deactivate my NT, using the menu option to do so. I did so, and got my NT reestablished but nothing was loading at all. I kept getting internal errors. Next step was to do a "Hard Reset". This took time, and the instructions given (which I am sure were copied and pasted are not correct as it tells the user to hold the home button and power button until the "Read Forever" logo comes up) were wrong. You never see the "Read Forever" logo. You get the NOOK trademarked "N" which looks like an upsidedown letter U and that is it. That is when you are supposed to release the buttons. Please have this instruction corrected so that you don't cause other users to have the same frustration as I did. It may be correct for the NC, but it is NOT for the NT.
Once that was done, and I got everything registered, wifi and B&N account, my books showed up, though I had to download everyone of them manually; however, when I went to look at my apps the only ones to show were the ones that come already installed. When I went to the store to look at the apps I found that the ones I had purchased all said "purchased" on one tab, but on the other it gave me the exact wording in the subject title.
So, now I have no access to my apps, which I paid for; and this is truly irritating to me.
Software version is the same as it was when I first got it, v 1.4.0, so I cannot see this as being the reason I cannot access my apps. Model number is BNTV250.

Are you anywhere near a B&N store? If it were me, I would get to one if it's close so they can try and help and maybe do an exchange if needed. If not, I'd call back to B&N and see about an exchange. It's hard to believe that all apps you have are not supported. I'm assuming you mean the NT, so it should still be possible to exchange if needed.
I do understand there are some apps that need updating to work on the NT, but shouldn't be that many.

Take a look at the NC forums. There are more people having problems downloading magazines and apps, getting messages about format/content not supported.
Looks like a problem on the B&N side of things.

Then it sounds like a server problem, not a device problem. Maybe it's busy or under maintenance.

I'm considering taking it back and exchanging it, as I have had it for less than a week; I just bought it last Wednesday. My books downloaded fine, originally; and I was able to purchase and download apps and have them work just fine. It wasn't until I was told to deactivate and reactivate my NT that the problem with apps started. At first it was an issue of an internal error when I tried to use my apps. Then support had me to a hard reset and my books all downloaded fine, but then the apps that did not come with the device could not be downloaded and I got that message in the subject.
Looks like a replacement is my only real hope now. Hopefully I can do that tomorrow.

I'm having this problem too. One new magazine subscription plus the latest edition of one I already subscribed to are coming up as content not supported. When I called the help line, their system seemed to be having issues as he was having a problem finding my info. Once he did, he wanted me to deregister my device but I was hesitant so I hung up with him. One day later and the problem still exists. I'd rather not erase the device and am hoping there may be another solution?

Not mine. After updating to 1.4.1 I still get the content message. If it happens next week to my Time magazine then I guess I'll have to de-register it though I don't want to.

+1
All four of my Sports Illustrated are okay and three of my Time subscriptions are okay. The Dec 26th Time edition is stuck in that category and not a thing I can do with it. They need to get on the ball and resolve this. I know with Amazon and the Kindle if you have issues with the subscription you can get it again without de-registration/re-registration so B&N needs to do the same (hint hint B&N). If it wasn't for my wifi settings I would probably do this process but all else works just fine.

The issues I had with 2 or 3 of my books not downloading were resolved after updating to 1.4.1.
