"Valued Customer" is Grumpy!!!!!
If I am such a valued customer, I spent over $300 on my Nook Tablet, I spend tons of $ on Nook books every month, and a member of the frequent shopper club. Why is it that ALL of the emails I receive that contain coupons, none of those coupons can be used on a Nook device???? Those of us who spent the $ for a Nook are obviously AVID READERS!!! We deserve to use the coupons as well!!!! I would understand if you made the coupons unavailable for the apps, but come on treat us like the "VALUED CUSTOMERS" we are!!!!! ASLMamas

1) What MacM said - Due to the Agency Model the prices can't be discounted. It's not under B&N's control.

2) There is a legal agreement being hashed out between DoJ, Apple, and Agency Model Publishers. After that the Agency Model will be ended. Then, probably, coupons will apply to eBooks too. Probably not the ones like Buy One Get One Free or 50% off. But the 20% off type ones.

Due to the Agency model pricing under which most ebooks from the major publishers are currently sold, most cannot be discounted, which means B&N can't offer coupons for them.  It would be too much trouble to allow coupons for non-agency ebooks but not for agency ebooks, so they don't accept coupons for any of them.

I would respectfully disagree that it is "too much trouble" to allow coupons for non-agency books. Kobo Books does, and I frequently use them to buy my non-agency titles and sideload them to my Nook.
