Bookmarks and Highlights

I have a simple touch, and I prefer BN over amazon. However, ever since I've been using nook/nc readers, bookmark syncing, and highlight syncing have been sketchy at best. When my NC syncs bookmarks, it syncs one page over. When it comes to highlights, they are almost never sync over. If you could please shed some light on these two matters, I would have no complaints at all. Thanks for your assistance.

Can't help with the highlights, as I rarely use them.

The bookmark issue is most likely due to the fact that, often, ereader devices will take several displayed pages (page turns) to show all the information for that "page." When you go to a bookmark on a page either on the same device or a different device, it will go to the first of those displayed pages.

This is further complicated if you are using two different devices that may break up that data "page" in different ways due to screen/font size. As far as I know, there is no technical fix for this; it's just a technical quirk of the format.

A technical fix would be to store the bookmarks as page + word position.
