Can we get an acknowledgment of the sync problems (last page read) with the NOOK 2? I've seen many posts on these forums of folks with this issue. Does the NOOK 2 sync or does it not sync at this time? Do some devices sync and others don't? Is this an issue that B&N are looking to resolve or is there no issue to be resolved?
If it doesn't sync please let folks know so they can make an informed decision to return the device in a timely manner or keep it with an anticipated update very soon.
Advertising the sync capability knowing that syncing is problematic is deceptive. Many people are buying this device who own a NOOKcolor and/or use NOOK apps. We expect these things to sync and access the last page read on books.

If it doesn't work for you, and it is a deal breaker, return the device. BN's track record is spotty when it comes to improving device functionality. Sometimes they get it right, sometimes they decide its not worth the effort and sometimes they make it worse.

As of yesterday, my device has been consistently syncing with the Android app (two-way communication). This tells me that their was an issue and it's being resolved. I guess it's company protocol to keep things like this hushed. Posting a sticky in the Tech Support forum acknowledging the problem and updating us with a resolution would ease disgruntleness. How many folks have returned the device and/or are unable to recommend it to others who want to make use of the sync feature?

It appears it's B&N policy to keep users in the dark, and to not formally acknowledge issues unless they absolutely have to. This has been B&N behaviour since the release of the original nook. ![]()
For what I've been able to gather, Sam can't even tell you that she can't formally acknowledge the issue, or whether they're working on it. All she can do is report to B&N that people here are having trouble. Even without her confirmation, I personally feel confident that she's done this.

Thanks for your post, particularly the second paragraph. That's my take as well. Perhaps she's due a formal word of appreciation. Thank you, Sam.

Being able to sync between phone, computer and Nook should definitely be a provided feature - or BN should tell us when it will be available.
I just called customer service and they confirmed that the Nook touch does not sync with anything.
I find this very disappointing and am going to return my Nook. Amazon will be releasing a touch version of the kindle soon anyways.

Hi All-
I've collected a lot of information on this topic from various internal teams and hope that in doing so, I can help dispell some of the misinformation that floats around here.
All of our NOOKs *can* sync to the "furthest page read" point. However, each device accesses the back-end system differently when performing this function, hence why we can sometimes see spotty performance when navigating between devices. As our teams work to standardize the sync-ing process across the entire NOOK ecosystem, we suggest the following mantra: "when in doubt, press 'sync'". If you are reading on one device but want to switch to another, make sure that you hit the 'sync' button on BOTH devices (before you put down the first, after you unlock the second).
Hope this helps--Sam

I don't see any "sync" button on my Nook 2 Simple Touch. How do I sync it?

From page 53 of the User Guide:
"The Sync Button
In the upper right corner of the Library is a button with two curved arrows forming a circle. This is the Sync button."
If I had been in a crabbier mood, I would have just told you to RTFM. ![]()

Maybe they *can* sync, but even trying your recipe doesn't work for me. As I mentioned in another post, if I sync my NC after reading then go to my N2 and sync, it will sometimes cause the NC to go backwards. This along with the disconnected wish lists need work.

Perhaps the answer, at least for me is to stop buying Nook books and use Amazon, you would think BN would want to keep customers buying Nooks. And its not just about sycing across devices, I constanly open my book on my Infuse, and it can't even remember where I was on one device, regularly takes me back to where I was reading a couple days ago. So to expect them to be able snyc across devices, well. So again it appears the solution is use Kindle books. and yes have Nook Color as well, but can be rooted to put Kindle app on.
Just saying. If BN doesn't care, why give them my money, other than the HW, which I love, except for this.

Hi Sam,
I've started to read another book in the same series on my Nook Tablet. When I came back to that book at a later time to keep reading it. It says I was reading that book on another device and do I want to go to that page. But I haven't been reading it on another device. I've only been reading it on my Nook Tablet. How can I fix this problem? I've tried taking the book off my device and putting it back on and it still says it.
Please let me know.
Thanks
Becky.
