NC/N2E: new partition issues

Please add a second indicator to let NC owners know how much space is available/used on their 7GB partition.  Only being able to see that there is 1GB of space in a possibly unused partition (some people don't sideload much, if anything) is useless.  If all of the B&N content automatically goes into the new 7GB partition, users need to be able to see when it is close to filling up.

Also, if users are no longer going to be able to see the B&N files that they purchase when they connect their NCs to their computers (as is currently the case with the new partition), ALL ebook files need to be able to be downloaded by the NOOK for PC app, even if they can't be opened.  The new partition scheme has destroyed the ability for users to manually backup their own NC-specific content, such as magazines and NOOK Kids read to Me ebooks.

The complete inability for owners to manage their own content as they see fit is unacceptable.  I see that a similar partition looks like it will be used in the N2E as well.  Without these issues fixed, the new device is going to be unusable for many, just as the Nc is becoming.

Big agree with Nallia here!  A lot of this could have easily been forseen during the delay in bringing the latest update out.  It makes the development team either seem ameaturish, or maybe they're in a different country.

I absolutely agree.  We should have the ability to download all content we have purchased from our computers whether we can open it or not using anything but the NC.  It is unacceptable that content we have bought is not available to us for archiving on our own outside of the BN cloud or the NC.

Re: NC/N2E: new partition issues

I concur...

I decided to have my NC repartitioned last weekend, as my NC was starting to get sluggish with the few apps I downloaded, and most of my 400+ ebooks are B&N purchases.  I only had a few books, plus some photos and music sideloaded. Prior to the repartitioning, I had slighlty less than 2 Gig of memory left.

No B&N content is visible, but the prior file folder structure remains (B&N books, magazines and newspapers).

The partitioning added a new bug; last nite, when I tried to  add a new download to one of my shelves, the only option given was to add a new shelf. Couldn't get the full shelf selection to show up until I powered off and on. I'm starting to worry that the repartitioning might have actually reduced the memory available for additional B&N content. Further, once I reload my photos,  half of my user available memory will be taken.
