Password to lock / unlock Nook Simple Touch

I was able to set a screen saver password in the original first edition Nook (i.e. a password to unlock the device when it wakes up or powered on).  But this option is not avaiable in the Simple Touch (2nd edition).  I checked with customer service.  They asked me to go to the "Security" option but I told them there is no "Security" under Settings.  They then asked me to check Screen option under Settings but when I told them the only options displayed are Authors and Nature, they said the password option is not available.  BTW, I am not referring to Wifi or purchase passwords both of which I was able to set.  Thanks!

You can't do that with the Simple Touch.  As you found, you can only set a password for PURCHASES.

I just bought the Simple Touch and this is a deal killer.  I REALLY loved all the first edition had to offer.  The only reason I updated was for the smaller, lighter size.  I'm really disappointed that you do not offer security on this "updated" version.   I consider that a down grade.

I just finished charging my "new" nook and that was the first function I looked for.  Sorry, but this one will go back to the store.
