New book A Lake District Journey has attracted much publicity

No, it hasn't.   A quick web search doesn't seem to find much interest in this book, of any sort, from anybody.  Can't find any mass media reviews.  The only review on B&N is from you, a copy of the one you posted on Amazon.

It's not new, released six months ago (1/30/12) from a boutique (vanity?) publisher, and isn't even available as an e-book in any format.
