I did leave out 'a' in 'para aprender a programar...'.  I guess because the infinitive kind of already includes 'to', I tend to neglect to add another one!  It seems like the literal translation would be 'in order to learn to to program...'.  I also see that you used 'en un Community College', where I used 'a una universidad comunitaria'.  Literally translated, 'in college' vs. 'at college', which are both acceptable in English - how about in Spanish?
