Book Collector Software/Database

I am looking to acquire a good, comprehensive collector database package and would value suggestions and experiences. There appear to be a lot of packages out there. Is there a standard? I am looking for something that is somewhat serious and that goes beyond mere inventorying for insurance purposes.
