Hi all, I'm Greg. Currently I'm a colllege student at a 2-year school, transferring to a university this fall. I've thought of majoring in English (only a maybe, so far). I do enjoy writing and feel like I express myself better in writing than verbally, at times. Several professors of the years have commented that I write well. So far, I've taken English Composition 1 & 2, and I enjoyed both. I don't know a whole lot about literature, however, English or American.
So, I was hoping for some reading suggestions to prep myself for literature courses, this fall. What would be 1 or 2 books that would be good to read to get a 'taste' of literature? Not looking for anything too deep (I really don't understand much Shakespeare), just familiarize myself a little more with English and American literature. I enjoyed reading Robert Frost in the past, and I like short-stories a lot. So, any suggestions for me, plz. Thanks, Greg
