Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Frankenstein beginning Mon. March 10th

I will begin posting discussion topics for Frankenstein on Monday, March 10th.  We will begin discussing the letters and chapters 1-3 that week.  If at any time you feel there is a topic we should add to our discussion, please add them.  I am merely acting as a facilitator and I would love to have your input as well.  Later this week, I will post more information about which chapters we will discuss which weeks, so keep your eyes open for these posts.  I'm looking forward to this discussion and I hope all who can will join us!

Yes, there has already been a discussion of this novel.  However, as it is such a great classic, I thought it might deserve another visit.  If you have the chance, please join us!

There was a Frankenstein discussion here last year.  But you're free to discuss whatever you'd like to in this thread.

Re: Frankenstein beginning Mon. March 10th

I have to announce my resignation from moderating the Frankenstein discussion.  I apologize that I was not a more successful moderator, but it seems my experience as a high school English teacher has not adequately prepared me for leading a discussion mainly comprised of adults.  I hope the discussion can continue under a more qualified leader.  Thank you for the opportunity, but from now on, I'll leave moderating to the professionals.
I will continue to read the novel and will certainly keep my eye on the board for further discussions of interest to me.  Again, I sincerely appreciate the opportunity and I'll see you in another discussion!

There's just not great traffic on the board these days, alfprof212.  Your questions were good.
