After the first ten chapters, it seems an brisk read. It certainly isn't like Swift.

One of the qualities I like best about Candide is its flippant tone from the first couplet. It starts with that fairy-tale "once upon a time" quality that's a dead giveaway that Candide is gonna get into trouble!

I like the "attitude" of the story. It's a fun reading and very interesting. This is definitely a book you can sit down and read in a day. The characters are very interesting.
