What are some of your favorite pet books? Informational texts? Texts about training? What do you look for when seeking a book about pets?
Does anyone here gravitate to novels specifically about animals? The Incredible Journey was always a favorite of mine.

Stephanie,
For someone who didn't grow up with animals, I gravitated towards Jack London. Call of The Wild, and White Fang, both had to be my favorite novels. If I can recall, a lot of years ago, these superbly written novels gave me the view of the animal, as a compassionate life force, in a community we could all learn from. Not a usual view, of the usual animal story.

Kathy,
I love Jack London's work. Interesting, your view on those novels. I felt the same way about The Incredible Journey - that book gave me such a different perspective on the animals we bring into our homes, and how they feel about us, rather than just the other way round.
