Re: ALICE IN WONDERLAND: Film, Stage & Other Adaptations

Well, I told about the high school play of it that I was in on the 'whole novel' thread.  The main production I am familiar with is the Disney film, although it has been many, many years since I've seen it.  When I was little, I had the record album from the film (I think even before I ever saw it), and many of the songs still stick in my mind and I could hear them there while I was reading.  Especially 'I give myself very good advice, but I very seldom follow it.'

Well of course everyone loves Disney's version!  Syfy just came out with a futuristic concept of a story after Alice's trip down the rabbit hole.  I love it!  And I must say, Hatter... mmm.. sexy with a beautiful accent! Trailer linked below.

I'm not interested at all in seeing this new movie with Johnny Depp.  I'm so tired of him, does he always have to be the center of attention?

Tim Burton really loves working with Depp so.... Maybe if Tim Burton stops making movies, Depp will stop being such a popular guy.  He sells tickets, too.  I have a bit of a soft-spot for him, myself.  :smileyhappy:

Ha!  I guess I would ask that of almost any actor.  :smileywink:  That's their job, I suppose!

Thought I'd post a couple of DVDs in this thread to jog some ideas past the Disney film.  There have been several interpretations in film and animation, though probably none of them are as well known as the Disney version.
