Of course Apple "never encouraged or sought to benefit from collusion." How could the DoJ POSSIBLY think that? I mean, it's not like Jobs practically admitted to it or anything. LOL.
Penguin: "The Emperor has no clothes."
I'm curious to see how far this approach gets them.

This shouldn't surprise anybody. Until the Court issues specific rulings, nothing at all is settled. Why would we believe that Apple might just stand idly by while three of the "Publisher Defendants" cut favorable deals with the Department of Justice and a sitting Federal Judge would go along with it?
If Apple has its way, and they probably have a good argument for their position on the settlement agreements, this case will not be resolved before next summer, at the earliest. It is way too early to conclude that the "Agency Model" will be back within two years.

Apple can suck it, They deserve the worst settlement posssible. Even though this ended up being good for B&N doesn't excuse Apple's self centered business practices. Their constant lawsuits against Android flat out infuriates me and I hope history repeats itself and they go broke.

Yeah I forgot to mention that. Hopefully now that Google owns them they will use their patents and give Apple the knockout punch they deserve.

All software patents are crap, no matter who brings suit.
Incidentally, an interesting revelation courtesey of Apple:
Amazon talked with the Government repeatedly throughout the investigation, even hosting a two-day meeting at its Seattle headquarters. In all, the Government met with at least fourteen Amazon employees—yet not once under oath.
