B&N Coupons DO work for NOOK accessories [ Edited ]

I saw a thread on the NT board about B&N coupons now working on NOOK accessories.  I checked the B&N coupons I received via snail mail last week, and was disappointed that the small print on the back still lists all things NOOK as exclusions.

With assurance, however, from the NT thread that the coupons WOULD work, I began an online order for a new cover for my NST.  At checkout, I typed in the discount code, and voila!  A 20% discount was applied and I saw the disounted amount listed as "member savings" on my receipt.

I will be visiting my B&N store tonight. I became a member in mid December and have never seen coupons either my snail mail nor email.. Sounds like by now i should.

I know I gave them my email address, as I was filling out two one for me, one for my son, and I had to redo one of the forms because I started putting my email on my sons forms rather then his by force of habit..

I've just returned from B&N in Millbury, MA and was told by the manager Heather that they received an explicit email from corporate last week stating that coupons were not to be applied to NOOK accessories. I was only purchasing a $15 item, but was stil disappointed.

Well just got back from the store. My membership card looks in order.. Sigh I guess I am just one of the unlucky people.  No coupons for me..

She put my email in with my purchases, saying that the more I register it the more chance I have to get on the receiving list. I had to laugh.. I asked if getting on the coupon list was like winning the lottery..

Did you check your spam filter Moose?

It's worth mentioning that there will still be some coupons that exclude NOOK accessories, most notably the mailers that got sent out before the new policy took effect. Check the fine print on the coupon if you're not sure.

From this point going forward NOOK accessories will be included with generic coupons.

As I said in my original post, my coupons arrived via the USPS (snail mail) last week and said, in  the fine print on the back, that all things NOOK were excluded.  Yet, when I typed in the code for my online order, I received the 20% discount on a NOOK cover. 

I, a B&N member, am also going to check my spam filter.  I have not received email coupons in the 7 months since I've been a member.  The 50% discount sounds great, and there are more accessories I've been drooling over.
