I "enjoyed" both books by Khaled Hosseini, Kite Runner and Thousand Splendid Suns (but then who didn't? Enjoy is probably the wrong word, but they're definitely good reads. Two other books by Don Locke
The Reluctant Journey of David Connors
and
The Summer the Wind Whispered My Name
were both great books, especially because they're each so unique: I've never read anything like "Reluctant Journey"-- it's kind of a fantasy/mystery/magical story that's at the same time very real and believable. And "Summer" which deals with the same character is very different: sort of like a cross between "To Kill a Mockingbird" and "Thunderbolt Kid" by one of my favorite authors, Bill Bryson:
The Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid
I'm including the links to these books to make it as easy as possible for you to see these great books! I've read half a dozen books by Bryson, and loved them all!
