Re: Do you judge a book by it's cover?

I agree with Vermontcozy, the cover definitely needs to show the feel of the book.

Sadly I fall into the bad habit of looking at only covers, but when you're staring the the whole Non-fiction section, you need something to catch your eye. But covers help portray the book, such as Jane Austen's books. From the Sense and Sensibilty cover I can tell that it's going to be a period story about a couple girls, at the least.

Covers definitely help.

Good idea!

Love this one--though the picture isn't really explained until the second book in the series:

I'm still trying to think of one I don't like... Remember, if I didn't like the cover (judgemental!  :smileywink: ) I probably didn't read it and therefore don't remember it, so...

Re: cover art

Lamentation  is one of my favorites, I'm an artist so I'm a sucker for true art. It's a lovely drawing and goes great with the book!!

I love these covers, they're very creative. The graphics and colors accurately captured the tone of the books; and after reading the books, I was not disappointed. I didn't feel that the covers had mislead me.
