Ebook Sales are Up, esp. Children's/YA ebooks - NYTimes

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/05/15/business/media/e-book-sales-a-boon-to-publishers-in-2012.html?_r=2...

2012 data is in.  Ebooks are now 20% of publisher revenues, with Children's/YA increasing by 117% over 2011 (adult fic and non-fic increased too).

I wonder if pubs are seeing a shift in who's buying those kids/YA books - if it's still skewed toward adult readers or if kids and teens are reading more electronically (previous numbers showed that the YA ebook readership was primarily adult, with teens preferring paper).

So if ebook numbers are up industry-wide, yet NOOK media sales are down... does that mean B&N's attempts to move beyond ebooks into other media are what's failing?

NOOK Media's content sales were also up - it was device sales that were down.

FlyingToastr, do we have any more solid figures? I've read that sales were down 12%. How does it break out?

Content Sales were up X%?

Devices Sales were down Y%?
