Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

First Look

Is the First Look program still alive and well?  Apparently Paul Hochman is no longer doing this program....how do I find information on availability, etc. of participation, if it's still around?

Re: First Look

Yes!  I've been watching and checking, too.  Truly hope it's not the end of the run for this oh-so fun and wonderful book club.

I'll be hoping someone addresses this issue for us.

Miss you all, and of course the books!

Re: First Look

FL Club,

I must check the Community Room and Announcement boards at least twice a day, hoping, hoping, hoping.  I miss everyone too.  It's such a great group of people.  FL makes us think and think and think and then, think more.  Let's hope B&N is reading these posts.

Re: First Look

I notice that the name in the drop down box has changed from "Book Club" to "Blog Forums"...I hope that's not an indication of the loss of FL!  :smileysad:

Re: First Look

I check about 3 x a week too!!! I miss this group and getting to discuss the book selection.  I hope it is not discontinued.   Thanks for starting this post--I hope all the FLers will add their names and B&N will notice we miss it.

Besides reading different genres, it's a different way of approaching the story line, characters and the plot and learning to analyze instead of just reading.  You see, we're never too old to learn new tricks!
