In 2006 I read two books by a female author with I think a French last name. They are fantasy books about two red-haired brothers, both with magic powers. One dyed his hair black all the time and lived a rough life, the other was delicate and refiined... they grew up apart and found each other (I can't remember how), and one of them had a curse on him and was going crazy. They journeyed to find the cure for him before he went completely insane.
These are among my favorite books in the world and I don't know why I can't remember their names, nor the author's.
If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it greatly. Thanks. Plus, I'd love to know if she's written any new books since then. I believe at least one of them was published in 2006 because they were on the New Books shelves at my Library. I moved so I can't get to the library anymore.
