Lagging book downloads

I don't think I've seen this mentioned for quite a while, but I bought a Nook book 6 hours ago, and it's still not listed in my library, and has a status of 'not yet delivered'. It came off of a gift card so BN didn't even need to wait for the card to clear. It wasn't a big deal this time (and the past few times it has happened.) But a big selling point, at least for me, was the ability to buy a book at an airport, or a magazine or paper at a coffee shop, and read it almost immediately. Taking hours or days to 'deliver' an electronic file wipes out that advantage over a 'real' book. I would have thought BN would at least have the ebook part of the business down by now.

The only time I've ever had this problem was at a hotel where the wi-fi signal was kinda spotty.

Re: Lagging book downloads

Every once in a while B&N gets a backup in its credit card processing or in its servers and the books take hours to clear.  Then things clear out and it's fast again.  It's annoying when it happens to you - I know I was highly annoyed when it happened to me - but it's ultimately just a computer issue and one of the risks with downloading digital media.

Blame the computer ???

Does any other company you know of, have such persistent problems with their computers, especially when it comes to buying stuff ???

Samsung Garnet Red Galaxy Tab2 (7.0"): Android 4.1.1 rooted
Acer Iconia A500 (two): Android 4.0.3 rooted;; Nook Color: B&N 1.4.3 rooted
Nook Touch (two): B&N 1.2.1 rooted; Nook 1stEd/3G (two): B&N 1.7.0 rooted.
Customer loyalty is earned, not commanded or deserved, and easily lost.
Nothing is foolproof, because fools are so ingenious. Same for rooters.

Re: Blame the computer ???

It doesn't happen all that often.

And yes, Amazon has been down when I wanted to buy stuff, and other sites.  I've had problems buying on Google Play, and I had this exact same problem with a book I bought on Kobo.
