I'm wondering if this is a glitch.  You can logout, but when you return to the book clubs, it still shows you signed in.  This is fine with me, except I might want the option to not showing that I'm active all night long!  :smileyhappy:  If we have the option to logout, than we need to click the "sign-in" before proceeding to participate on the boards.  What do you think?

It's not a glitch Kathy - it will only keep you signed in if you check "Remember Me".  If you don't want to stay signed in, simply don't check it and you should be fine.

Kathy sounds like my double sign out glitch. Sign out as normal on the right side then go sign out at the top too. It will take care of it.

I never have checked remember me, and all my cookies hit the trash and the burn out when I leave. But if I don't double sign out, site still has me as here.

Re: Signing In.

I stay signed in also. But I have not checked Remember Me.

I will be early to setup. Ready to play games. I am not the best player, but I do have fun.

Vermontcozy, Thanks for hosting the event.

Thanks, TB.  I was thinking about this, more.  If I'm always showing I'm signed in, there is no place to "un" click "remember me".  It only shows up when you physically have to give your email address, etc. to sign in, which I don't usually have to do, because I had asked it to remember me.  I generally just have to click the 'sign in', and I'm in.

And I take back what I said yesterday, about my computer eating its Wheaties...today, no matter the time of day, everything I clicked on, pages, posts to read, replies...boards, was so sluggish, I thought I was going to go crazy waiting for them!

Re: Signing In.

Things that have been fixed in IE 8--

1.  I now see the avatars.

2.  I can now put in tags.

3.  The default for the "insert link" is now "open a new tab" !

4.  I no longer need to sign in.   It used to be this way and I liked it on my home computer.

5.  Fonts seem fine.

Thanks guys!

The default for the "insert link" is now "open a new tab" !

I think this was fixed independently of IE-8 by B&N.

I use Mozilla Firefox and have been one of those campaigning for this fix, which B&N was kind enough to inform me happened recently -- that it was apparently rather an independent problem and could be handled ahead of some other bugs with greater dependencies.

I loaded the new version of Firefox yesterday and things do seem to be working more rapidly with it!  I do also have Internet Explorer loaded and available, but I can't upgrade it because I use another (university) system that is incompatible with IE-8.  :smileysad:

Somewhere in this whole process I finally realized I could increase font size on My Profile.  I do still have such an option selected, which gives me a nice, pleasant screen.  However, Subject lines do get distorted when entering Posts.  But, that is liveable.

Like Psychee, I say thanks for each step of progress!

Re: Maintenance Today (Old)

I had closed my browser window yesterday afternoon on this computer.

I do not check Remember Me.

When I went to a board this morning, I was already logged in.

Not a good thing. It is still happening.
