I'd like to see a "True Story" book club started.(That is, books, not personal experiences.) The problem is that I don't know how or who to send my request to.
Signed,

In your True Story forum, are you saying that you wouldn't want biographies? I ask because it seems like most other true stories would fit in Crime (in the mystery section), or History and /or Current Events. What am I missing?
Personally, I've been looking for a Science forum, but that one got archived some time ago due to lack of use, I guess. But I imagine that the SciFi folks wouldn't mind a conversation about real science from time to time.

Biographies as well as autobiographies and memaries (sp?) are fine, I just don't want to hear your personal stories within the chat thread. For example, I'd rather not hear how you fell and broke your leg last. While it may be indeed may be interesting, I want to try and keep "thread talk" limited to books, please.
Some examples is shown below:

Nope we wouldn't. However I do leave most science talk over in current events. Can't get anyone to bite over there though. But real science does come up time to time in sci/fi especially if it's book related tech or science. Come on over!

@T_Bash -- Welcome to the B&N boards!
I believe that the suggestion may be a good idea for something in the Genre & Ideas Board area. There is a section dedicated to "Fiction General Discussion" and it seems like a "Non-Fiction General Discussion" board may be nice where this type of book-based discussion can occur. I think the "Current Events and History" board seems to be a non-book conversation catch-all (which I admit is interesting to read on its own).
Posting here is probably the best way to gain member support for the new board. A PM to Michael-V (one of the B&N admins) may also help.
Count me as a supporter of a "Non-Fiction General Discussion" area!

Real science chat is welcomed over here, so long as most of the time a book is somehow attached/related.

@FantasyRider
Thanks for the advice. I love the quote at the bottom.

You know I'd bite at most of what you post over at the CE board if it didn't have its resident troll ! Life is too short to waste any of it on her.

Would Stephen Hawking's new book be appropriate for this new book club? I've been wanting to read that one and would love to discuss it with others who are interested. I'm game for a Non-fiction book club. I think it's a fantastic idea. I tend to switch between fiction and non-fiction. I love Science, History, Biographies....Bring it on!

Actually, when I posted above about needing a Science forum, I was thinking about Stephen Hawking's new book. But that is one that I definitely think would be a welcome discussion in the Science Fiction forum, even if it isn't fiction.

But a general Non-Fiction forum is certainly a good idea! I like it better as a title than "True Stories".
