Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

New Coupons for Members

As a B&N member, I received six coupons in the mail from B&N - to be used either in store or on line.  One of the coupons was 30% off Water for Elephants.  When I tried to use the coupon on line, it said NOT ELIGIBLE!!  I called customer service and was told that because the price was already discounted from the list price, the coupon would not qualify.  I'm wondering why B&N bothered to print & mail out a coupon that isn't eligible for use?!?!  Probably one more reason not to renew my membership.

Re: New Coupons for Members

I used to receive the email coupons all the time but now I cannot remember the last time I got one. I do know that  they are not going to spam, I have the same email address and have not changed anything on my account to stop them. Tis a mystery. :smileyhappy:

Re: New Coupons for Members

Whenever I have checked the coupons in the emails I get from B&N, they have been for specific items that I am not interested in.  I would much rather have coupons for a certain percentage off an item of my choice, or on anything in the B&N Classics series, or something like that.  The past couple of days, here in the site, I noticed a 15% off (any item) offer posted near the top of the page (I assume not for members only), and was able to use that on a DVD miniseries I wanted.  It is discouraging to be a member when there seem to be so few benefits any more.  At the same time, if I visit the store just once a year, I will still probably recoup the fee, since I tend to go a bit crazy in there!
