Who are you to say what is and is not a priority? How dare you? Do you need a wikipedia definition of priority?
ROFLMAO!!!
You forgot to challenge his expertise on subject, ask where he went to school, and accuse him of not being the CEO.

I admit that I'm not the CEO. But I submit that I'm better qualified than the CEO, of whom it was said in the recent Fortune interview that he had never sold a book in his life before coming to B&N. I, on the other hand, once worked for the Post Office delivering packages for the Book-of-the-Month Club. It's on my resume so it must be true.

Wow, he really never worked as a bookseller? Did he come on as the CEO, or more junior?

IDK. That exchange, about two-thirds of the way into the interview, seems to imply he came on as CEO.

It's sad, but I've given up on B&N in this area. If I want to read reviews of a book, I do it at Goodreads now.

William Lynch was hired by BN to head the development of the BN ebook store (as it was named) in 2008, coming on as president of BN.com. In 2010 he was appointed CEO of the company as a whole.
He did not come up through the retail channel, unlike the previous two CEO's (Len and Steve Riggio), which could be viewed as either a good or bad thing depending on what side you sit. But that's what he's referring to when he says that he "never sold a book" before taking the job at BN.

Which makes it all the more interesting that Lynch in the interview mentions giving people browsing in the stores access to the BN.com reviews. I wonder whether he knows how bad an idea that would be, and I wonder whether he plans to use some of the MSFT money to fix the review system.

Actually he specifically states editorial reviews from BN.com, which isn't a bad thing.

Both need to be easily viewable, easily editable, and totally shared across all platforms and applications. Including sideloaded books in main storage and on SD card.
Edit: And oh, yeah, how about using some of the MSFT money to fix preordered books so they download without having to archive and unarchive. I subscribe to magazines and a newspaper that automatically download without my even touching the Nook. Preordered books should do the same.

Good point. And we can still hope that to strengthen the content-selling partnership MSFT may lend some expertise to improve BN.com.
