I'd first like to introduce you all to what I call "my heart book". I am connected to Whale Song for many reasons, partly because the story originated from an old legend I heard as a child, and partly because it was the only novel of mine that my brother Jason ever read--before he was murdered.
Whale Song is the story of a young woman haunted by her past and by lost memories. It is a story of family ties, love, deception, tragedy, sacrifice and redemption that will change how you view life...and death. It is the perfect story for all ages, and especially for anyone who has ever lost a loved one.
My name is Cheryl Kaye Tardif. I am a Canadian suspense author. I was born in Vancouver, BC, but now reside in Edmonton, AB. I have 3 bestselling novels available.
Whale Song
The River
Divine Intervention
All three of my novels have been used as novel studies in various book clubs for adults and teens, although Whale Song is the most popular. You'll find a variety of topics in Whale Song to discuss, from native legends to bullying, abuse, racism, assisted death and living life to the fullest.
Whale Song is part family drama, part coming of age and part mystery. Originally marketed for women 30-60, it has now found a huge pre-teen and teen folowing, making it one of few novels that appeals to readers from 7-108.
If you choose to use Whale Song in a novel study, I have a discussion guide that is perfect for book clubs and schools. You can view the guide online or download the PDF.

I also offer autographed bookplates to bookclubs. Just email me through my website.
Thank you,
Cheryl Kaye Tardif

The ultimate classification of this work is yet to be determined, though it is officially registered under both designations with the official ISBN agency.
The debate concerning the science of this new book has been raging on the Scientific American community blog for over a month { http://science-community.sciam.com/forum.jspa?foru
In terms of science fiction, this book is packed with all the materials that make a thriller: pending apocalypse, a scientific establishment blinded by greed and lust, and Biblical omens. The most ominous implication of the scientific model is that mini black-holes are expected to be stable. This particular implication accounts for measurements of “dark matter” (that has been documented by multiple high-tech facilities across the globe). On first glance the stability of mini black holes might seem inconsequential. However, the LHC project, which is due to be turned on in May of 2008, possesses the very real possibility of creating man’s first synthetic black-hole material. Before the advent of this new model, “common-knowledge” was that in order to achieve stability, black-holes required huge amounts of mass…therefore the LHC project was assumed safe. Terrifyingly, if this new model is correct, then the doomsday sequence would parallel biblical projections.
Again, is this new book science fiction or science fact? This is a question for your bookclub to decide. Actually, it is a question for the entire Earth to decide. If it is science fact, then we may have only until May of this year to find that out and act to prevent catastrophe. The stakes are incredibly high. If this new model is correct, then a $6,800,000,000 project must be shut down, and multiple other multibillion dollar projects would be called into question. This helps explain why detractors have been so passionate and why some might be motivated to criminally attacked both Scientific American and my own websites. Also, if this model is correct and no actions are taken, then the fate of the entire planet may be at stake.

The best part of this book is the author's description of the Seven Candles. It really fits in with the theme. Buy this book because you will love it.
Sounds good! Will have to try it.

Info on the book:
Stay Cool is a polemic against American culture which seeks to indoctrinate the ideas of celebrity, hero worship, materialism, wealth, etc. Instead, it is a book about enjoying culture and art, poetry, music, literature, food, family and friends. It teaches a life of simplicity much like Thoreau, along with the idea that we as humans are no more significant than anyone else who lives or has lived in the world. It is a book about learning to enjoy your existence. Stay cool, which means do not elevate yourself above others. Have fun. Don't get caught up seeking superfluous things that don't matter. Stay cool, man.

This book is truly for lovers and it will excite the relationship.
"Heaven At Its Best." It is about a relationship that rivaled Solomon and the Shulamite Maiden in the Song of Solomon. This is the beginning of all relationships. This relationship overwhelmed the five senses and created a sixth sense called, "Heaven." It bypassed the imagination. Their essence left their bodies and went into each other. The man no longer stated, "She was his other half." He found out she was his other self. He truly found that a dog was not man's best friend; it was the lady if you treat her well.
Pref: Some people even wish upon those shooting stars. They do not know that “My Lady’s” beauty may be their wish. The moon at night becomes in awe of this beauty and come out to see her brilliance. Because of her beauty the Sun kisses the moon and disappears. Her illumination brightens the night and day. Sometimes the sun refuses to shine because of her bronze glamour. Nature responds to her as if she is a supernatural being and because of her nature takes her queue for life. What beauty when nature has to stand in line for her. Her eyes are glamorous and dazzling and show enchantment. The eyes are stunning and have a brilliant cluster. She is a work of art and no one can do art like God. He definitely put this beauty together. If only you could have seen her at the moment she began to dance, you would have been bemused that she was created with impeccable flawlessness. Authorhouse is the publisher. Barnes & Noble presents it well.
Teaser:When I use the term “My Lady,” I am describing a lady that has a sensation of “Aphrodisiac” within the landscape of her total being. This lady, as she dances across the floor, one cannot help but to label her “Salient.” Her “Lambent Radiance” is her aura and that aura is shear stimulation for the eyes that beheld her. Her being is self-sensation. What your eyes see, the essence of your being will respond. Her moves magnetized the eyes. When her dance was complete you could still see the waves of her moves like an after shock. It was like watching the heat waves flowing upward from the concrete on a very hot day.
Rev. Dr. Clarence Rucker, Jr., from Detroit to Atlanta has found his way as an elocutionist. Dr. Rucker is hailed as one of the great evangelistic voices of the gospel. He is a poet, educator, author, elocutionist, civil rights activist and Viet Nam Era Veteran. He travels and spread the gospel, “From Dust, To Life, To Power.” He is hailed as one of the great voices in the ministry. His wisdom is vastly becoming legendary. He now resides in the Houston, Texas area. He is a Minister and Evangelist of the gospel. From Detroit College of Business, to Wayne State University: to Calvary Theological Seminary, to Templeton, and Cornerstone University: Dr. Rucker has been inspired by the love of the gospel. His concentration is in Golf, Traveling, Real Estate, Public Speaking, and Reading. New writing to follow is, From Dust, To Life, To Power.
Faith is similar to a beginning: it appears diminutive and pathetic, but it has existence in it; and if it is cultured, it will develop and liberate power (Laconic, Dr. Clarence Rucker, 1944-.)
Must be enjoyed if the eyes touches the "Book."

I'm so glad that I was directed to this site to help promote my new book. It is advertised on B&N, as a new release, but they do not have any in stock. I'll have to work on that.
If you like Jaws, you'll love Barracuda. Here is my press release.
Decorated Cop and Dive Master Pens Stunning Thriller That Mixes International Intrigue and Environmental Catastrophe
Barracuda by Mike Monahan is an edge-of-your seat adventure about a recuperating cop who faces a mutant barracuda.
The gripping crime drama, Barracuda by Mike Monahan, is a modern-day Jaws drama, pitting a wounded cop on a paradise island against a deadly barracuda.
Ever since Jaws, people have been wondering how safe it is to go into the water. Now ex-cop Monahan’s white-knuckle thriller Barracuda is about to make the beach an even more terrifying place. Detective Mick O’Shaughnessy is relaxing in the scuba diver paradise of Bikini Atoll, when he finds himself involved in international money laundering scheme, a territorial feud and an impending war between the Russian Mafia and the Japanese Yakuza. Added to this is a mutant barracuda who is snacking on tourists! Can he stop the crooks—and the fish?
Written in whip-smart prose, Barracuda is power-packed with authentic scuba diving
knowledge, police procedure and historical detail about Bikini Atoll. Fast-paced and wildly entertaining, Barracuda is truly the catch of the day.
About the Author
Like his father and grandfather before him, Mike Monahan was a member of the NYPD. A detective, he has worked on countless investigations and homicides before retiring as a decorated cop after twenty years of service. Now a professional Dive Master, he lives in Yonkers, New York
Thanks so much for having this thread for us new writers,
Mike Monahan
