Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: Classes Apart by Philip O'Mara

This is a  new romantic sporting comedy,  entitled Classes Apart. This is an adult sporting comedy that follows the fortunes of Paul Marriot, the secretary of the Barnstorm Village Sunday soccer team and coach of a school cricket team in Yorkshire, England.  The story describes the remarkable camaraderie between the players and supporters of this little club and their desire to achieve success.  The team had previously been known more for its antics off the field, rather than their performances on it.   During his time at the club he meets and becomes involved with Emma Potter, who is the sister of James Potter, a major player for their bitter rivals Moortown Inn.   Thus, begins an entangled web of romance and conflict.  He also begins working at Derry High School, a school with a poor reputation of academic success, where he becomes coach of the school cricket team. Here he develops an amazing relationship with the children and they embark on an epic journey.   www.eloquentbooks.com/ClassesApart.html  Biography. Philip O’Mara is a Campaigns Officer for a political lobbying organisation based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England.  He decided to write this book after being involved in grassroots soccer for almost twenty years.  Phil now lives in South Elmsall, which is a small village in the heart of Yorkshire, England.  He was brought up in the nearby former coal-mining village of Upton and educated at Huddersfield University, where he obtained a BA (Hons) degree in politics.  His early beliefs were shaped through his work as a trade union branch secretary and his involvement in local community education.  He is also a lifelong supporter of Barnsley football Club.

Re: The Legend of Witch Bane by Kevis Hendrickson

Hello everyone.

My name is Kevis Hendrickson, author of The Legend of Witch Bane. My book is the culmination of 20 years writing my own mythology. The Legend of Witch Bane is a Young Adult fantasy novel inspired by classics such as The Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, Brother's Grimm fairy tales, Greek and Norse Mythology, and the Arthurian Legends.

Here is the blurb:

High Queen Rhiannon Eldess has placed the kingdom of Kaldan under a terrible curse. Only Kòdobos, Anyr, and Laris can save their people from a dark fate. Danger awaits the children as they face the queen's evil minions in their desperate quest to save their kingdom. To gain final victory the children must find Witch Bane, the magic sword which will give them the power to defeat Rhiannon once and for all! But a prophecy foretelling of the return of an ancient evil threatens to doom them all. It will take all their courage to survive the malevolent forces of evil gathered against them. Will they fail or will they succeed? Prepare for the adventure of a lifetime!

As well as hotels, resorts, wineries, and vineyards, there's also a section dedicated to Hearst Castle. You can take a look at this and other titles HERE.

Take care, John Crippen Photography and Books
