I reported it, FWIW. It will be interesting to see whether it stays.
In the meantime, a new review has popped up from a reviewer who confesses that he has not read the book, because he just can't get past the name of the main character. Democracy is in action, though. These two prank reviews have received nine "not helpful" votes from the good readers of B&N reviews. And a good thing too, since I'd hate to see Jo Nesbø (the author of the book) or Barnes and Noble lose any business on account of some unfortunate user being swayed by these two rather compelling and wholly negative reviews.

Ugh, I hate reviews like that. I mean, yeah, we're all entitled to our opinions, and free speech and all that, but geez, write something useful for the people that are going to read the review later.
So, yeah, the system is a mess, but a good part of the problem is that there are a lot of unhelpful people using it. ![]()

Hi all,
I'm sorry for all of the trouble everyone has had to this point. Please PM any issues/concerns you have with reviews. I'll do my best to help until our review system is fully transitioned.

Hi, Alex. Thanks for stepping in.
Mmm, "fully transitioned" from what to what, exactly? Inquiring minds want to know!

Well, seems at least a part of the Review System has been fixed. It has a new look to it, too. It no longer posts my reviews as "anonymous" but puts it under my user name. Still can't edit/delete the review. And, instead of a header line, it just copies the first sentence (or part of sentence) as the header.
Baby steps, right?
