Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Re: Show off your My B&N profile!

Mine is partially done.  I've got my favorite books and some of my fav music listed.  Also, what I'm reading now.  Will keep working on it!

I love that you have these profiles now! :smileyhappy:

Re: Show off your My B&N profile!

Another newbie to the profile stuff.

So I finally found how to search through other users' stuff.

http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/bn/search?type=user&advanced=true&page_size=10

But 95% of these profiles that return (if/when I can enter in search terms that actually return results) are private or empty. Argh! Any filters to look for just public profiles? Or could BN add an icon here to let us know who's public/private/lame?

Lil' help? Should I be looking somewhere else?

Re: Show off your My B&N profile!

Hi,

I am The Nobody of The Eerie Coterie.  We set up the Eerie Coterie almost 5 years ago as a small book club, but now we are more than that.  As a bookseller at Barnes & Noble The Coterie looked at departmental sales and lesser known titles and created our first book selection series called The "Goremet" selections.  We tie in the books we are recommending online on our MyBN page with what we promote in our store.  We have our own webblog as well and have a recurring conversation group that is more than a book club.  Thanks to Barnes & Noble, The Eerie Coterie has grown and expanded and is able to reach anyone out there who is interested in the "eerie" things.  Horror is our signature topic, but all that falls within like Occult, some Sci-Fi/Fantasy and of course film and music are never taboo.  We were even featured in Rue Morgue magazine (issue #90) in the roadkill section. For september our "Goremet" pick is Koko, by Peter Straub.

Re: Show off your My B&N profile!

hey, this is my first time on here. just created an account, had to do all the things to make me a more social human being i guess. one of my favorite past times is to read, so i figured that this was worth a shot. i am also thinking of writing a book, good luck, right. i am a ten year navy veteran, but now find myself in a reserve component of the army, and serving yet another tour of duty in iraq. what a combination. so if anyone would like to write me, then feel welcome. i am a product of the sixties, history buff, and a free thinker (the one thing that the military could not take away from me, lol). anyways, thanks and god bless.
