Sorry about this.....

guys and gals..... but looking in other groups I have noticed that sometimes there is no way of posting a new message. The thing I think.....how do these posts get in there in the first place. Someone has to place them in there. I also notice that there is no "new post" button to post something. I am a relatively new user to these groups and have a lot to learn. Please do not be beligerant in giving help. I NEED HELP!

Re: Sorry about this.....

New messages cannot be posted to the "New to the B&N Community" or "Announcements" forums (BN.com moderators are only allowed to create posts there).

You should be able to post in any of the other forums though.  Which forums are you having trouble with?

Re: Sorry about this.....

also, the occasional thread goes so far off the rails into name-calling and general peevishness that the moderators lock it or delete it.  If there's wheat amongst the chaff, they're likely to leave it posted but locked.

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." Re: Sorry about this.....

If the group you were looking at is one that has been "archived" no new posts (either new threads or replies) may be written.

Blogs and certain groups like Literature by Women restrict the posting of new threads to moderators or guest hosts/writers.  Any member may post replies to existing threads as long as the thread remains unlocked (a little lock symbol appears next to the index post)

The Announcements thread is restricted to posts by moderators and admins only.
