Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

Transferring files

Just purchased a color nook and need help to transfer files from my Borders and Kobo applications.  Can anyone tell me the procedure?  Can't seem to find it yet in the user's guide.

Thanks!

Try posting the question on the NookColor Technical Support forum, you're much more likely to get answers.  But a quick answer for Kobo is that you need Adobe Digital Editions, you don't need their application to download and transfer books.  Not sure about Borders, never purchased anything there.

There's a link in my signature to setting up ADE.  It's for the Nook but the procedures for getting ADE to work should be the same.

Re: Transferring files

You need to download either Calibre or Adobe Digital Editions to do this.  With either one its really easy.  I have both but mainly use ADE.

Simply click the Library button at the top left side of the screen.

Find the folder where your books are stored, highlight them and click "open"

Then to get them onto your NC...simply connect your NC to your computer & you'll see it show up on ADE.  Then select the books you want to add & drag & drop them into the nook tab & viola! your done.

To access the books on your NC you need to go into "library" then tap the "my files" button then the "digital editions" and your books are all there :smileyhappy:
