Hi Everyone...
I haven't seen any threads related to this problem so I thought I'd mention it here. Recently I became aware that I was, for some reason, unable to purchase free ebooks from the B&N web page. At first I thought it might just be a B&N server problem that would clear up in a day or so but that apparently is not the case.
I called digital support, and the nice rep there discovered that like me, he also could not purchase a free book from the web page. He said that apprently there's a problem with the page itself and he was going to have to send it to his second tier support. He also said that it probably wouldn't be resolved for awhile as they were backed up. He was right, that was 2 days ago and still no change.
I did discover that I can still purchase the free ebooks through my nook and once done there, my Nook for PC can download the ebook to my computer, so though inconvenient, there is a work around. Just thought I'd let everyone know. ![]()

Is this the issue where the "Buy" button isn't working? I know there was a thread on that recently. I think the user resolve the issue by using a different browser.

@keriflur
Yes, it is a problem with the 'Download Now' button not working. I did just try it with EI (I normally use Firefox) and it worked. All I can say is the digital support tech must have been using Firefox too since it appears that's the problem. I haven't changed any settings on my Firefox browser recently so I was wondering what the other poster did to get their's working again. Thanks for the heads up though.

Two workarounds:
Right click on the Download button which forces a new window. You should be able to click the download button and complete your transaction.
Or hold down the CTRL key and click on download.
Only got 1 dimple, would have preferred 2!

It's related to recent versions of Firefox. Since there haven't been many complaints, it's probably some setting. I just give up and use MSIE.

I don't think it's just limited to B&N. I had trouble making a purchase on Google Play earlier today as well.

I think it has something to do with pop-up settings, and may be resolved by allowing barnesandnoble.com to launch pop-up windows.
