Since 1997, you’ve been coming to BarnesandNoble.com to discuss everything from Stephen King to writing to Harry Potter. You’ve made our site more than a place to discover your next book: you’ve made it a community. But like all things internet, BN.com is growing and changing. We've said goodbye to our community message boards—but that doesn’t mean we won’t still be a place for adventurous readers to connect and discover.

Now, you can explore the most exciting new titles (and remember the classics) at the Barnes & Noble Book Blog. Check out conversations with authors like Jeff VanderMeer and Gary Shteyngart at the B&N Review, and browse write-ups of the best in literary fiction. Come to our Facebook page to weigh in on what it means to be a book nerd. Browse digital deals on the NOOK blog, tweet about books with us,or self-publish your latest novella with NOOK Press. And for those of you looking for support for your NOOK, the NOOK Support Forums will still be here.

We will continue to provide you with books that make you turn pages well past midnight, discover new worlds, and reunite with old friends. And we hope that you’ll continue to tell us how you’re doing, what you’re reading, and what books mean to you.

What Cartoon Did You Grow Up With As A Kid?

As a kid my dad raised me to like cartoons he liked when he was a kid. I grew up on shows like Transformers G1, G.I. Joe, Tom and Jerry, also some shows that he watched like the old Doctor Who, the original Star Trek, I grew up watching Deep Space 9 and The Next Generation also Enterprise, but Star Trek: The originals was the best. I have a nerd for a dad. I'm not that old, so technically I haven't grown up yet but you see what I mean. So I wanna know what show/cartoon did you grow up with?
The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe - Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore, While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.`'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door -only this, and nothing more.'

I can relate to Taylor-Marie because those shows aired when I was little. I was really obsessed with Blues Clues when I was younger. And I do mean obsessed. I had everything that involved Blues Clues right down to a blue stuffed dog. lol also Renand Stimpy was like my favorite show ever.

I'm actually watching Top Cat on Boomerang right now.  I loved this show when I was young.

Of course, I watched Captain Kangaroo, too!  That was live-action, so I didn't think of that.  Along with the Captain, I liked Romper Room, Ding Dong School, Shari Lewis, Kukla Fran and Ollie, Wonderama, Soupy Sales, and some show with Chuck McCann as host with a troupe of marionettes where he would sing "Put on a happy face" as the theme song.  And there was a show on the weekend where they would show foreign films for children, which was interesting.

The Electric Company was a bit later, and my brother watched that, so I saw it sometimes.  Another one from that time was Zoom.
