Re: What Cartoon Did You Grow Up With As A Kid?

and we used to watch this one all the time that involved all these cars racing, I can't remember the name but one was a dog named Mugsy(?) and another character named Penelope Pitstop--does anyone remember the name? I had a Matchbox Penelope Pitstop car.

Penelope Pitstop had her own cartoon as well as one of several characters included in the cartoon Wacky Races.

Oh, there were so many!  Here is just a few off the top of my head....

Tennessee Tuxedo  (he used to always say, "Tennesse Tuxedo will not fail!")

Heckel and Jeckel

Casper the Friendly Ghost

Flinstones

The Jetsons

Captain Kangaroo

Corky's Colorama (It was a local cartoon TV show in our city.  Clif St. James who was a weatherman at night dressed up as Corky the Clown during the day.  At first it ran every day, then later on it was only on Saturdays. I think it ran about 17 years or so.  They sent kids a postcard on their birthday. I used to look forward to that!)

Yes, I watched all of those (except your local one; I think we all had our local kids' shows!).  As I recall, Tennessee Tuxedo was voiced by Don Adams, who played Maxwell Smart.

Ahhh (chuckle) Wallace & Gromit aren't a cartoon. Those are claymation. For that matter so is most of the Gumby stuff.

Are we including those too?
