Does anyone know were I could buy a nook for a cheaper price? Or would it be wiser to just save up for a nook from Barnes&Noble.

You might as well start saving since there is very little variance in pricing. The only alternative is buying a used one from Craigs List or other online sources. However, some people have had problems trying to activate a used Nook and end up with paper weights instead of reading devices. One other suggestion is to check this site for refurbished Nooks; look and work like new and cost less than new.

Even cheaper than $149 for the Nook Color at $129 from B&N on ebay. But have to check it daily as when they have them there they go fast. And maybe once every month or two kind of thing.

I just noticed in the Sunday sale flyers that Staples has all 3 Nooks at the B&N prices but include a Staples gift card varying from $15 to $20 on the various Nooks. This effectively gives you a slight discount.

I have a refurbished Nook Simple Touch and a refurbished NookColor and I haven't had any problems with the. In fact, the only way I could really tell they were refurbished is because of the tag on the box.
