trying to figure out the Wish List

Hi, and I hope you're all having a wonderful day.

I'm trying to figure out the Wish List.  I added some books to my Wish List

but when I go check the Wish List, nothing's there.

I've tried this a few times, on different days, same thing happens.

Any insight??

Re: trying to figure out the Wish List

Yeah Wylee, I too am having the same problem. It has been over a week now with the same result. I thought maybe my list was too full and so created a new list only to find it is not showing in the options of lists to choose from. I have been saving my wish books in "My B&N Library". At least I have a place to find the books I want until the problem is resolved.

Yes, there's a problem with the wishlist on the website.  The only way to add books to the wishlist is to do it from within the wishlist, there's a place to type in the name of the book you're looking for.

This has been an ongoing problem for well over a month now, B&N just says we're aware of it and working on it.  Apparently not working on it too hard, and they obviously don't care if they lose future sales because I can't easily add a book to my wishlist.

Re: trying to figure out the Wish List

For me this has been a known problem since mid Novemeber.  Everytime I ask, I get now response from CS, just a "we know".  It has really put me off of buying from B&N, I now search elsewhere for the books that I want, not only for the best price, but also for the reviews (another system which is also mucked up).  One would think that if they "roll out" a system that obviously doesn't work, and after three months they still can't fix it, bring back the old system till they can actually get their ducks in a row and quacking in the right direction.  Sorry, just very frustrated with the situation and lack of any meaningful action from B&N.

Re: trying to figure out the Wish List

I too have received the "we know" and "we are going to have it fixed soon" response from Customer Service.  When something like that comes from a representative in an online chat (as it did in my case), it's not the most hope-inspiring of reassurances.  It's a bit more encouraging, though, to note that BN_AlexG, our trusty admin, did say in another thread that Barnes and Noble is about to roll out a solution to some of the problems with the Web site.  He indicated that it might even be implemented before the end of the month.  How broad the changes will be (will they addess the wish list issue, review problems, some odd quirks at least I have noticed in searching for products, and so on), who knows, but there is little doubt that B&N is aware of these things.

So hope springs eternal.  Perhaps some good news is right around the corner.

I've never used the wish list here, but I always thought that sort of thing was for letting your friends know what they could buy for you, as in, "I wish someone would get me this as a gift."  Why, I believe I have a wish list on a competitor's Web site for just this reason-- well, perhaps not quite.  I mean, I got no friends, so in my case it's more like, "I wish someone was my friend, and then in that case I wish he'd buy me these things."  As I said, hope springs eternal.
